Extract form the following web article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29419259

Three major UK supermarkets are to cut the prices of petrol and diesel, starting on Tuesday.

Sainsbury's and Tesco both announced a drop of up to five pence per litre, while Asda said it would reduce petrol by up to one pence and diesel by two.

Also this can be used in conjunction with your accumulated Tesco fuel reduction 'points'.

5 years but still learning
Still won't be using supermarket fuel in the camper, may pay a little extra but only buy branded fuel.

It may all come from the same refinery but for the miles we do I like the piece of mind, and the convenience of a diesel truck filler that dispenses a lot quicker through a bigger nozzle.

May be physcological but alway feel I get better power and economy from branded fuel and anoraks I work with always trying to save a bit also feel they get better results in a car than on supermarket fuel.

Still use it in the lease car though as it is not my engine..

As I've posted on another thread, our camper needs filling and the (hopefully) 5p reduction plus our 20p per litre fuel save means I'll save £20 on filling it up ... can't complain at that! Our camper, and cars for that matter, run well on supermarket fuel, in fact the only time we've ever had any issues was with a well known brand of fuel, so we'll stick with supermarket fuel, plus of course we get the lovely Clubcard points to use for Eurotunnel etc ... I'll stick with Tesco fuel thanks. :)

We use supermarket fuel in three cars (two of which are high performance) and the MH and have done for years. I've never had an issue, never noticed any difference in performance or mpg.

Well. I am a trackday instructor and need every bit of power I can.

I fill the bike with the cheapest fuel I can find and the bike never suffers from lack of power.

I was showing 178 mph yesterday at Silverstone on Tesco's finest.

When was the last time the fuel filter's were changed, that can have a dramatic change to efficiency,

Over the years I have used all sorts of crap .. even in desperation chip oil that had just been filtered through old tights !
About the only thing I would say is that I DO change filters regularly .. but a £8 filter once a year(ish ) is easily paid for when something really cheap is available !
