It's finally arrived today at around 4 pm :thumb::thumb::thumb:::bigsmile:
On the out side she in very good condition :thumb: inside I'll leave you to judge ::bigsmile: but let's say she needs some work :Smile:Just spent the last hour and a half taking all the crap out of the van and filling the wheel y bin :thumb:-Tomorrow a good sweep out before the fun starts :thumb:
A few pics -the carpeted board was fixed to the roof on the 2 x 1 lowering the height  and the 3 x 2 fixed to the floor with a mixture of silicon and something like sikaflex -the silicon was a right pain to scrape off the metal floor the sikaflex stuck really well but simply cut through with a Sharpe paper scraper :thumb: With out doubt the Sikaflex held the timber better :winky:

it looks great on the outside, and will be on the inside once youve done your magic.

Its a shame about the other vehicle coming up, is it much better.
If is much better, flog this one, or buy the other line it up ready for your production line , lol
But dont overextend yourself, financially or time wise.

Best of luck
Pat

I managed to sweep the van out ::bigsmile: one large wheelie bin full of crap and bits of particle board, also took out the small bulkhead all of 6 screws ::bigsmile:20 mins later it was raining so I spent almost 4 hrs tidying the garage  I can now make a bench from all the 3 x 2 and mdf out of the van ::bigsmile: that will make life easier for when I start :winky:Paul called for a coffee and pulled some wiring out from the crew cab bit o now I can start boarding roof and floor plus insulation before things start next weekend
terry
edit forgot to say Julie has covered one of the seats in a rather spectacular aqua green leather --she just has to cover the armrests then a picture will follow

Spent another hour or so clearing the garage and moving my patio table to use as a bench :thumb: only to find once in place with a 8x4 ft sheet on I had no room to work around it so dragged it outside :thumb::Smile:--
I then started on the van and got in a good 5 hrs or so :Smile:Managed to get 95 % of the insulation in and fixed the roof ply ready for the finished ply :thumb:Not quite as easy as it sounds simply because where the felt had been stuck to the roof the "grab" from the glue would not grab ::bigsmile:so a little juggling took place -no problem on the non felt bits, worked as it should :thumb:Any way self tapped the ply to the roof ready for sticking the finish boards at a later date :thumb:--Its easier to self tap a ply board to the ribs ready to glue finish boards to it or you get bellys between the ribs :winky:-

Monday's update Did about 5 hrs again today- cut and fitted floor then did the same on the new floor with the underfloor insulation :Smile:Took up the insulation and floor then the wind came :Eeek: let's just say it got interesting ::bigsmile:laid the insulation then floor on top :thumb:All screwed down :thumb:Then onto the roof ply finished boards all fitted and glued up. :thumb:Finished insulating the cab front and called it a day :thumb:-It's quite a while since I did anything like this so I have now got some aces and pains which I hope a good soak in the bath will cure ::bigsmile:

It's been drizzling all day so only managed to cut and fit one wall board and take a near enough pattern off it for the other side :Smile:Water and me don't mix well so went and did a bit of shopping, paid some bills --No pics simply because wet sawdust trails all through the house so ended up vacing all the kitchen hall stairs and landing -- did go over to Julies to see if she had completed the armrests for the seat but even shes done nothing but she says she may finish one tomorrow :thumb:
I did take some pics of the small camper she did over the weekend though :thumb::Smile:

::bigsmile: NEVER looking at a Transit again:Eeek: biggest bag of shit I have ever seen ::bigsmile:Nothings straight and you loose about 7 to 10 inches off the width :Eeek::Eeek:Cannot believe the top half -less than 5 ft wide The bottoms not much better :Doh:If it was not for the strengthening bits it would make a good van and be about 6 ft 3 ins wide as it is 5 ft 9 ins is the max :Smile:

A transit will be no problem to a wood butcher of Terry's calibre :winky:
Hi John -This ones really testing me :Eeek:::bigsmile: I stuck 1 wallboard on today and I am thinking of cutting it down and sticking the dreaded Veltrim around the windows :Eeek::Eeek:Roll on Thursday when I go into the van again with fresh thoughts/eyes on what to do :thumb:I am thinking along the lines of boxing the windows out but the side near to the front is going to throw problems up simply because it kicks out a couple of ins by the front doors -- like I said Transits are crap :Eeek:::bigsmile: It may take a couple of goes but I will get there :winky:::bigsmile:

Hi Andy you would make anyone think I had the v5 :Eeek:
All I have is the test cert --Guy I bought it off is keeping the v5 for me until it's near enough finished, then I can send it straight off to re reg as a M/C and in my name :thumb: (I trust him::bigsmile:)
It's a MWB RWD- andI think 135 or 125 bhp badges are in the front door panel
Slept on the window thing and I think veltrim just around the window bits is going to be the way to go simply because it may look neater than boxed out about 3 ins ? Still not sure but will dummy up one side and then the other and give it a coat of looking at :winky:

ta terry, sounds like mine then. I made it 2 berth with bunks. couldn't manage a dedicated shower and toilet in a mwb. would have needed a lwb for that. I found a step essential as the rwd has a higher floor and I think my payload is around 4 to 500kg with a full tank of derv but no water on board. (mine is a 350) don't think the smaller pay load vans leave much weight available after the conversion process.. look fwd to seeing the finished job.....ta again andy
