according to this VIN check website its a 1993. :Eeek:

Broken Link Removed

Common for a chassis to be 1 year older than the body. No worries on that count. Its built on the Spartan chassis which I believe continued without change for many years. The Yanks have a saying "If its not broke don't mend it". Jeeez am beginning to really WANT that damn thing.

only two bidders and both going up in $100 automatic increments.

3 days left and i reckon at least $38000.

And i thought that saying originated with the British bike and car industries....which is the #1 cause of their decline

One year. A whole one!
Ok, let's look at a few things:

1. You want to tour the US.
2. Where else do you want to go with it?
3. Would it be practical elsewhere?
4. What would you need to spend on it to make it 'yours' after purchase?
5. Is there a market for this should you ever decide to sell? How easy?
6. Is your RMB limiting you in any way other than maybe the US?
7. Your RMB is depreciation-proof and has mass appeal if you ever decide to sell.
8. Ignore the above and go with your heart. You'll not regret it.

Or... you could put your RMB into good storage, buy the Winne and do what you want, then sell when done and resume adventures in your RMB afterwards.

Am looking at $35000. I recon they have a reserve of $32000. The £ is strong now, so its cheap. Run it for a year in the States, then ship it back, get it converted, run it for another year in the UK and stick it on ebay de at 50000 Euros. Job done, NEXT :thumb:

1) Yes, been thinking about it for some time.
2) Its within EU sizes, and highly desirable in some parts of Europe, mainly Germany.
3) No problem travelling anywhere with it.
4) 2K on electric conversion, max.
5) Good Airstream trailers make silly money in the UK. Good Airstream MHs make obscene money in Germany and even more in Scandinavia.
6) I can ship the RMB to the States at reasonable money, but it would be easier to buy there.
7) So would be the Airstream.
8) Damn....I want it.

Reading this made me think of a famous Who record........

Magic Bus, Magic Bus, Magic Bus, Magic Bus
I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it.................

So, how can you not buy it now? I'd give my right arm for that, if I hadn't already given it to buy mine.....

How about this view... it would be a liability, don't buy it.

I know you are sociable, but do you want a queue of people outside your Airstream day and night?

Do you like to live in a fishbowl?

Would you enjoy the responsibility of keeping it pristine and stopping people leaning on it or driving very close to you to get a better look.

Because it is what it is, you may become a target.

The build quality is not up to the RMB.

Are you succumbing to being egged on by others that would like you to own it, but maybe because of the above wouldn't buy it themselves?

but...

If you can't live without it then what an adventure, all the above will fade away for a while

Mmmmm, good thoughts.
Sociable animal, Yes. Thats one of the reasons I love motorhoming.
Living in a fish bowl. Owning an RMB is like living in an aquarium. People are always coming and asking questions about them.
We have the perfect deterrent for those that drive too close. A handful of small nuts tossed onto the roof of a car sounds like there engine has fallen out from the inside.
Being trained as a marksman in my youth am pretty good at target practice myself.
Build quality was pretty good on Airstreams, but agree, not quite on a par with RMB. But then again, what is.
I could definitely live without it, but life would not be quite so much fun.
It certainly has a presence and as my grandmother often said when she went out in her mink coat. "No point going out if no one knows you have been" :thumb:.

Not only is the £ gaining on the Euro, but its also gaining on the greenback. An extra 2.5 cents to the £ in the last week. The damn thing is becoming more tempting by the day. Spoke to the dealer today and he assures me its as good in the flesh as it is in the photos. He did say there was a lot of interest in it, but would not disclose the reserve.

Have found it advertised on two sites, one in the States and one in Canada at serious money. I just hope they were trying to catch a fish then as am the high bidder at the minute although it has not met reserve yet.
