We are thinking of selling our home and temporarily living in our motorhome while we look for a new house in Cumbria. Has anyone done lived like this with no fixed location?
The obvious problem is that we will not have an address (I don't suppose car and MH insurance will like that). Do we have to find somewhere that will have us as semi-resident so we can use their address or are there ways around it?
Grateful for any help.

If a temporary measure it’s easiest to “move in” (y) with a relative so you have an address.

I have done this, twice, but in both cases I just gave my Son`s address as C/o?. You used to be able to get the Post Office to redirect for a given period for a fee (3 or 6 Months at a time?) But of course they are now "privatised" so I am not sure if they still do it?. Many of those who have "Holiday Homes" on the east coast do just that, they give the address of a relative as "abode". Several of the L-A`s are wising up to this and asking for a Council tax Bill in their own name as evidence. Because as the name implies the are "holiday" homes, and not for permanent residence.

Yes, and it’s a lot easier than buying or selling property !!! Use a relative, or friend’s address for insurance/ vehicle registration and just carry on. I full timed for 2 years moving back from France to the UK and liked living in a Moho more than I like living in a house at the moment.
It makes travelling to different areas to house view a lot easier.

We are in the same position as yourselves since July. Presently sitting in the Basque region with onward travel to Portugal and Spain. After completion of sale everything register at my daughters, even voting registration. Informed all the various insurance/bank accounts informing them of temporary address not a problem

Haha There is an ENTIRE section of the forum here dedicated to people living in their van so yes people have and do do it..
As for having an address, just find a relative you trust and say you live there.. DONE..

Thanks for the help and advice I am getting here.

BUT ... do NOT do this if the relative is a sole occupant otherwise their Council Tax will go up from 75% of the cost to 100% ... unless of course you are willing to pay the additional 25%.
