Last year we got burnt in the middle of April at La Rochelle/ile de re. There were some that got wet in the sea, we never went beyond waist deep.

Been there in February and could almost sunbathe on the beach.

Drove down through France a couple of years ago, Started early March. Took a month to reach the Med.

Still only 12c when we got there. Brrrrrrrrr

Many years
Could be warm and sunny and dry,
Could be freezing and horizontal driving rain.

April is quite early, as a shoulder month, for Atlantic coast France, so it'll be Russian Roulette, and potentially very changeable day by day.

Unpredictable, its an area that experiences mixed weather at the best of times. We were in the SW coastal area last March. Temps mid 70's with people sunbathing on the beach at 6pm.

I also remember Easter at La Rochelle with hot sunshine. Still cool at night though.
