Can anyone tell me how many amps the basic Tassimo coffee machine draws to make one cup of coffee? I ask as am on a french site with 6 amps ehu and don’t want to trip the supply

The power rating should be on a plate on the machine?

I’ll give it a go in the morning then with everything else turned off including fridge. SWMBO very bad mood in morning before coffee so worth the risk?. Looks like I can open the cover with a pair of pliers to reset the trip switch if I have to anyway?.

It’s simple to calculate using the P=VI triangle

A symbol above another is a division, a symbol on the same level as another is a multiplication.

To calculate I (amps), divide P (power in watts) by V (Voltage). ()

So I = 1300 / 240 = ~ 5.41 amps.

And P= I*V, V=P/I

Simples.

When the heating element first kicks in it will draw more current for a brief moment as the element when hot has a higher resistance than when cold. The 1300W rating will be the steady state.

I would just plug it in and see what happens. Steady your nerves with a coffee first. :)

Hi, we have used our nespresso machine, same power rating as yours, all over France and Spain on 6amp sites. Just remember, everything else switched off or on gas, needs to be the only power drain! We can also use our Freshlight air on on 6amps, again with everything else off.
Or, if you have one, use your inverter with battery charger switched on!
