Hymer B764. Taps have stopped working. It has caused the 12v symbol to flash and the display is showing E232. Any idea what the issue is? Any help appreciated

The tap fault is easily checked, just try another to see if that works ?

a get round if the us the case would be open the faulty one, then just crack another, both will run, but only a dribble from the one you don’t want to use

but I am with Ken, I think fuse or pump ? I don’t think a faulty tap would generate a fault code

Thanks for the quick responses. Both taps affected.
The kitchen tap seems to be the one doing the damage though. The 12v symbol flashes and the display shows E232 but we don't know what that means.

It's dark and wet here in sunny Spain.
We have a spare pump with us so will try that in the morning but not sure its the pump. We'll see

Don’t fit the pump before checking the fuse board first. It’s a two minute job to put your cagoule on, and with a torch, look in elektoblok locker, simples.

otherwise bed mucky wen not weshed as they say in Yorks ?

Mucky beds here then. it's not just drizzling here. It is a full on storm. So it will be a job for the morning

We share your pain (about the dark and wet in Spain). We're parked up just near Sevilla and it's raining so hard, as it has all day, that the bulls are walking round in pairs! Can't hear the Archers due to rain on the roof. So not all bad news!
Keep us posted with the tap issue. Hope it's only a fuse.

Did a google search and as so often happens this forum comes up with a reference although on this occasion not a solution

but turning all 12v off and back on fixed this chap for a while at least ?

Think positive. Who needs a tap? Just hold a jug outside the door:smiley:L
You can say that again. It's still lashing down here. In the grim almost light of day this is where we are with the tap mystery.
The bathroom tap is working. We haven't tried the kitchen one yet. Kind of leaving well enough alone as one tap is better than none. But am I right in thinking that if the bathroom tap works then it's not the pump or a fuse? It seems to be the kitchen tap that is the problem.

As posted before likely tobe the microswitch in the kitchen tap. Each tap has a small switch so when you move the tap lever it turns the pump on. Through use the wires flex and eventually break.
Turn bathroom tap on until you hear pump run, then turn kitchen tap to get water. Dont forget to turn bathroom tap off when finished!
I guess the fault code was unrelated?

Might be of some help?

Hi again
DavidG58 David put me on to JeffH who has had the same problem. He said it was the water pump that caused it. He thinks it happens when the water pump begins to fail and so it still works intermittently. We've got a spare with us but it will be the first time Glenn has replaced one in this van and he tells me it's not easy to access. Might be looking for extra brownie points  (y)

The pump is just dropped in the top of the tank through the inspection cap and two connections 5 mins to change if it is the same as our Hymer.

Find the original pump and shake up and down, and check the wiring.
If all the taps were not working, I dont think that's a microswitch problem.
On what is the error code showing??

Hi All
It's fixed Glenn has risked life and limb to change the pump. :clap2::clap2:
He's moaned a bit about how difficult the access is with the double floor. I'm now treating him as a super hero so alls well.
Thanks for all your suggestions and help. Much appreciated

Hymer pumps sometimes get an air lock. Think it's in the manual.
Worth checking original pump before you dispose of it.
What display did you see the error code on please???? Photo of display.

Just thinking about this and the comment in the related thread

when we bought ours, which is older but I suspect has some common electrics, the previous owner told us he had to switch off and back on the main control box to fix odd faults, I did a few in the early days but haven’t for a while

but that’s a jolly sight easier to try than changing the pump ??

This is the display unit but the code has gone since the pump has been replaced. Will keep the old pump just in case.
