yes I was a mechatronics tech in a previous life so have no worries taking a tap apart. The problem is getting in to it to remove it and see what the problem is!We had a leak from the tap body last year which trickled down and then down via pipes. The photo below shows the tap in bits and the rubber seals which were at fault. I replaced the tap, just because I had one spare, but I think new seals would have certainly fixed it. The tap was held in place by the brass coloured nut which located the wishbone shaped piece of metal. Easy to get off with a socket or box spanner.

Then you just have to undo the pipes from the tap & fit them to the replacement.

I was envisaging the tap being disconnected from the pipes by means of a basin wrench, but I now gather the bigger problem is getting access to the top of the pipes....Provide that when installed there was enough slack left in the pipes to be able to lift the tap far enough upwards to get at the pipe-to-tap connections.
Think I'm understanding better now..Thanks all very helpful but……I need to know how to get into the unit to get the tap out then I can fix the problem!
I had a leaking tap from the swivel body and I stripped it down and applied silicone grease to the seals and that sorted it.We had a leak from the tap body last year which trickled down and then down via pipes. Full marks and kudos go to LandyAndy, got the sink out by removing the 4 screws as described!Your sink comes out by undoing the screws in the corners under caps. You can see them in your picture.

And if you don’t have a hairdryer???A hair dryer works just as well as a heat gun on those connections.....
