Our Burstner Ixeo 680 kitchen tap dribbles until we open and close the bathroom sink tap. Then it’s back to normal for the kitchen tap a short period. Any ideas?

Yes, wires coming down

I have a feeling that your microswitch may be the problem in that tap.

If the tap is not working but the other taps and shower are working when the pump is in operation then this normally indicates the microswitch in the faulty tap is faulty.

The faulty tap will operate briefly if you turn on one of the other functioning taps. Is this the case?

Yes, spot on. I have looked at the tap and cannot see a way to take the handle off. !

If it's a microswitch system I think the kitchen tap just doesn't quite fully turn off. If you have just used that one when you turn it off the residual pressure makes it drip. If you use a different one that one releases the pressure as the pump cuts just before ot closes.

The tap needs to be stripped down and the microswitch replaced. They normally cost about £20.

There will either be information on search history here or you can go on You Tube.

I have replaced one on a Reich Tap.

Let me know what tap you have. A picture would help.

I'm still not clear on whether problem is the kitchen tap only dribbles when it's on or dribbles after its turned off

I am taking it that it dribbles when the tap is turned on. We will have to wait for clarification, type of tap and hopefully, a picture.

I’m taking it that it dibbles when off, until you release the pressure with alternative tap.

Apologies for reply delay, holiday Holland got in the way.! When the tap is turned on it runs for a very short time then slows down to a dribble then stops.
Cannot see how to get into the switch or what make it might be.

Looks like you have a Reich tap.

You remove the cap on the handle which it round, showing hot and cold. Once removed you can remove the handle screw and remove the handle.

Then you have to remove a small screw at the base of the tap. It is located at the rear of the tap near the work surface. You can then remove the base of the tap, giving you access to the cassette and microswitch.

Thanks Toady, I’ll look in a few days now that we’re back.
P.s . I played Toad in Wind in the Willows once. Your name made me smile!
