Hi
I'm using a whale water master connected to outside tap and the water is not coming into tank on mh

Check that water is coming out through hose thats fine
Any ideas?

Drain tap open on the tank? Is there any water running out under the van somewhere? Or is the pumped water just coming back out of the filler neck?

Not sure what you mean 'Whale Water Master connected to outside tap' - I thought it was a pump?

Its the whale system you plughole into side of mh and turn outside tap on. Should then fill tank. Took hose off that fill tank and nothing coming through

When we had that system we had a valve to turn from pumped to mains fed.

On controll panel you switch tank fill on

You can conect hose straight from tap to mh using special fitting
Sorry it sounds like a caravan arrangement where you plug a whale pump into the side of the van and the pump unit goes in the can. You can then buy a hose filler float valve thingy that tops up the can.

That arrangement UNLESS specially requested and fitted doesn't work on a motorhome.

On an MH you fill the fresh water tank and the internal pump supplies the shower & sink taps.

When the fresh water storage tank is empty you refill it and make sure the waste tank is empty. Most likely you will need to empty the waste before running out of fresh water.

However to save folks posting any combination or configuration of possible plumbing arrangements..... it is always better to say what you want to achieve, what your doing and what's the problem with that!

Also a few phots of the issue gives folks a real helping hand to identify the problem and hopefully help you.

Sorry sounds like a bit of lecture but the more info you give up front the less time it takes folks to come up with a solution.

Hope you're sorted soon.

Wow thought I didn't first post stated on a mh and what system it is to fill

Just wondering if its easy to convert to easy fill method with hose pipe

I put all info in the first post asking about the whale system

Can't remember what my system is but somebody has already mentioned that, like mine, you have to press the "fill system" option on the internal display. Has yours always filled in the past?

Edit: Ah I see you've mentioned the control panel. Curiouser and curiouser!

Hi mine you conect hose and press tank fill on on panel it filled last time I needed it.
The internal pump works but not outside.
You can attach an external pump into a butt but thats not working

No cos the fitting on side of mh is a whale fitting

But what Swifter means is can you access the tank from inside the van like most of us can and stick a hose in bypassing the fill sysytem on the side of the van?

The tank is under the mh and a pipe leads to the whale master fitting on the side of the mh.
I was wondering if I can change the whale fitting for one that you just poke the hose into and the onboard pump still work

Can we see some pictures please? Whoever designed this system needs sacking . Sounds more like a set up for a caravan with direct feed from aqauroll .I am astonished there is no manual way of filling the water should this filling pump fail ( as it has done)

It might just be a case of removing the “socket” on the side of your van and replacing it with the regular water fill cap. It might need some diy but there should be a pipe running to your underslung tank. Or you could see if there is a fuse for that pump on your wiring diagram. With a multi meter are there any electrical contacts for the external pump you could test to see if the problem is the pump?

just what I would do and some thoughts.

We have a whale filling system. I have though just filled through the internal hatch directly into the tank. A bit fiddly. Carpet up and hatch removed. There must be one as it’s needed for access to drain plugs and for cleaning etc. it will be there somewhere and you can dangle any hose you like in there. There is no pump used to fill.

No internal access
