Good afternoon , we have just booked a ferry for tangier med , we will arrive around 6.30pm it's our first time
So we thought it would be better if we found a site not far from the port for our first night , then make our way
to marrakesh ! Any tips and advice would be most welcome thank you 😎😎

I'd find our what time dusk is on your arrival date and how far you can get in that time.
Given that it could take quite a while to actually exit the port

I'm afraid that my experience of Tangier, many years ago, is it's a place to get well clear of as soon as you can.

It's the 8th of December so will be dusk when we arrive !!

i'd stay on the car park just the other side of customs where the money changing and cafe are.

Morocco has just banned flights from France.
No mention of ferries.

Agreed! It was the first place I took Jan away to in 1995 when we first met. Stayed at the Hotel Chella during Ramadan, where the sheep were being slaughtered and cooked just outside the hotel entrance! Take a step outside and we were pounced upon by young men wanting to be your friend, for money of course. The Cafe de Paris was good fun though. I didn't think the interior had been decorated since WWII, but we could imagine Humpty Gogart sitting there, plotting...

We are booked from sets !! We haven't had any official notification about the cancellation yet .

If you get to go, the easiest place is the Asilah service station just before the turn off for Asilah about 30 miles from Tanger Med and really safe to stay the night and fill up with diesel at the same time

Or actually go into Asilah, just keep going along the main road, really easy, don’t worry, at the big roundabout on the seafront the ‘guardian’ will see you and show you where to park up, very very safe. Asilah is a great town to walk around and get a feeling for the country. The guardian may hassle you for a beer or children’s clothing, but ‘hey ho’ welcome to Morocco 🇲🇦

Thank you for the information !! But looks like we will be going back to the UK !!! It's now official the ferries have been cancelled due to the rising covid rates in Europe
