Well I arrived an hour earlier at tunnel but didn't get an earlier option so still waiting for my 9.20 train ...wind has died down a bit but it's still raining ...

Nice quiet night last night ....there was a few cars came and went up till around 11pm but no loud music etc ...think they were just young ones looking for somewhere to park for some nookie.....I did try with binoculars but couldn't see anything so I watched now you see me 2 on telly instead ...

You need some night vision goggles,,BUSBY

Very windy and rainy coming down the motorway from France in to Belgium but no wind here and the rain has stopped thankfully...not sunny but it's trying to break through

So I arrived in Tournai...I came here to use the services but can't get in as theres a huge fair there just now .....didn't really need them urgently but would have dumped and filled if I could ....so I'm stopped a little out of town to have lunch and take dogs a wee walk ...will decide where to go after that

Tournai is a beautiful city but I did it last year so not a big loss

iI am glad that you made it over this time.

Weather sounds pretty grim all over North of Europe, including here - was 7C here at 0900. Maybe you need to get South quickly, although on your planned route that also means East too, so that might be heading to colder.

I did not add up the fuel bill figures you posted, but I think you probably saved the equivalent on the difference you would have paid for labour in the SE compared with what you paid near home.

I cannot believe we are on p.6 of your new thread already. Before you switched I had thought to suggest that it should be called something to do with Jason and the Golden Fleece, as he kept being blown off course, but maybe that is all behind you now so inappropriate.

Yeah it does move kind of fast lol . It's not too bad here it's not sunny but it's 17° so can't complain ....it's also dry and not windy

I reckon they spent a good 6 hours on the van in the end as he spent about 90 minutes just trying to get that broken bolt out . So not too bad

It cost me roughly £80 in diesel from home to the tunnel I reckon . I'm still sitting on half tank now

We have a Belgium bar near us, they speak mostly French, but depending on what borders their home, it could be Dutch or German, just shout in English that normally works. Bob.

I met a few doggy walkers and fisherman along the canal they nodded and muttered something but not sure it was bonjour....I played it safe and mixed it up with bonjour and aright...that seemed to work.

Had a wee leg stretch along the canal after lunch ....it's not sunny but one did have to shed ones outer garments as one was beginning to perspire.....just have a browse on park4night for an overnight stop as don't want to stay here.
