I’m a newbie
Hi everyone ☺ thinking of fitting a Chinese heater . My question is can I cut into the existing ducting to distribute the heat or can it damage the original heater . I have 06 Fiat homecar with a Truma heater . Looking forward to your response, have a wonderful Christmas and a healthy NEW YEAR to you all

My heating ducts look like tough cardboard, I don’t think I’d want to risk it.

Might be fine for the first few times, but then who knows and fires are a risky business in the van.

Can't see it causing any problems, you could put a shut off valve in the pipe back to the Truma.
Bear in mind there are 4 heating outlets on the Truma Combi.

As Two on Tour said that’s the route I took.
I mounted the heater under van with a short pipe (75mm) into a tee inside van with reducers fitted to link into 60mm original duct ( look like cardboard but are aluminium lined), works fine.
I have removed the ducts off the boiler and linked them to use all the outlets but I only get a small amount of heat in the bathroom which is furthest from the heater.

Can you tell me why I need to isolate the Truma heater please .

Heating ducks also makes them taste like tough cardboard as well, I assure you. And definitely not slightly rare with orange sauce

I tried it with pipes on boiler and I didn’t get any in the bathroom, just seemed better with pipes linked rather than go through boiler.

Big thank You 😊 doesn't look like a big job .

Pipes just pull out of boiler and with mine I had joints near the boiler so took pipe off joint and fitted one pipe to link pipes together

The destructions on my Chinese diesel heater explicitly stated not to be conneCted to existing heater ducting but gave no reason why not

Probably because it may put to much restriction on the outlet.

My heater came with one 75mm outlet and the area of two 60mm tubes is greater so should be ok

The diesel heaters require a minimum flow of air through the otherwise they may trip out. The heated fresh air also has a cooling effect on the heat exchanger as it passes by. Not to be confused with the combustion air intake.

Only from people I know say there crap good for 20 times then start packing up faN moter etc
Would not trust Chinese crap that cheap

But I don’t have one it just what I have seen
