When we had our house burgled, the felons did take the pee. It was discovered at approx. 6am when someone walking to work past our house thought it was a bit suspicious leaving a telly in the middle of your drive behind the C4 parked there, when it was slightly drizzling and no sign of life apparent, so rang 999. Police got in the same way as them through the window frame they'd removed the glass from and on learning our name saw they'd got Pete's contact no. on file (for a legitimate lawful reason) so rang his mobile, in Portugal with us in the MoHo. To cut a long story short, it wasn't until we got back we discovered that yes, eldest d & son in law had put the telly back where it was sposed to be - BUT the remote was nowhere to be found. Must have stuck it in a pocket and confidently sashayed outside armed with the C4 keys. However at that stage of course they had no idea whatever that it's battery was removed and locked in the garage beyond the 6ft heavy wooden gates they'd had to heft all their spoils (and some of them were ruddy heavy) over to the front. That raised a smile anyway!
They'd dropped the car key on the floor beside it, so the same nice lady found them too.
