The UK.gov website seems to suggest that when returning to the UK from France, with a cat, there is no need to visit a vet in France beforehand.

Providing the pet passport is up to date, and filled in correctly all should be ok...

Is this so? I've read lots of posts asking about vets on here, and am confused now.

This is correct. When we returned from France to the UK with two dogs and one cat only the dogs had to visit the vet.

Yes, it's a lot easier with cats. You just need the passport with rabies in date. No need to visit a vet.
I was so glad when it changed as getting 2 dogs into the vet, back to the car, 2 cats into vet, back to car then foot down all the way to the ferry was knackering !

Did you have to pre-book your return ferry/Eurotunnel?

You should not have to pre book for the Ferry or tunnel,Its only a cat lol .It is just cheaper to pre book We have two yorkies and the cat with us when we take the dogs to the vet for there worming tablet the vet always checks the cat over for free.It is much easier returning with a cat if that was all you had, you just produce the passport and then check the cats chip when you get to passport control and its job done. Enjoy lol
