Taking off a reading light in my Knaus Sun Ti

The reading light has come loose where the chrome stem meets the base. There’s probably a nut inside that needs tightening. I can’t release the base from underneath the cupboard to get inside it. Tried unscrewing it and also prising it off with a piece of thin plastic and a screwdriver.

I obviously need to apply more pressure, bit am loath to break it. Generally speaking, does anyone know how these attach. Any help appreciated.

I put similar ones in my van and they are fixed from above, have you looked inside the cupboard

Put a fair bit of pressure on Rob and it doesn’t seem to twist.

Thanks. Yes the cupboard is bare! There’s obviously some sort of false bottom to hide the wiring, but no apparent easy access or entry.

It will probably be a prise off job, have you tried a crowbar?

Put a fair bit of pressure on Rob and it doesn’t seem to twist.

Hold the stem and twist the base it might work.

It’s a bit small for my crowbar.

Thanks Tony, that’s what I’ll have another go at tomorrow. I’ll get a wider and thinner spatula in there and use a bit more force.
