Table map

I'm going to paste a map onto our table in the van, what is the best way to seal it ? spray lacquer or water based varnish ? The table is solid beech, old kitchen worktop.

The technique is called decoupage.
There are a few options on how best to achieve an acceptable finish so might be an idea to Goole that and see what one suits your needs.
If the table is going to be in regular use you need to be careful to ensure the covering \ sealing of the paper is well maintained as any minor break will "destroy" the look.
