Don’t own one yet
I might be being really stupid but what do I put on the health declaration form for France at the bottom where is says done at? Do I put my location as in my town or uk? As it then says on so I put the date and then at h so I put the time but it’s the done at bit that’s confusing me!

I suggest you post the form on here because your post doesn’t really make any sense otherwise.

Incidentally, travel to France is not recommended by me at this time, or ever.

Thanks I’ll do the same, it was the way it was wording that was confusing me :)
Not just me, then I was confused at that bit as well. I covered my bets and did one with uk written there and one with the date but I think uk or England is the right one . I think it lost something in translation 😊

France still has processes that UK abandoned 60+ years ago (e.g. having to endorse cheques when paying them into your account; UK abandoned this in 1957 (except for items such as Government Warrants ...). Each declaration document made in France (and each cheque you issue!) needs to be 'declared or made at' and you can add your French town or postcode. It doesn't really translate for UK use, because the 2 countries operate in 2 different eras!

When we landed in Santander back in June all the PLF s were collected on vehicle deck and crammed into a carrier bag.Bet they landed up in the bin.BUSBY.

I doubt that banks check signatures. After a motorbike accident I have had to learn to write left-handed. My new and illegible signature is therefore nothing whatsoever like the tidy specimen one at the bank but I've never had a cheque declined.

Hi. I live in France and it confused me at first when we moved here. Where it says 'Signed at' you put the name of the town and the post code. You might also want to put the country, too. For example, 'London, SW1A 2AA, England'. Hope this helps

UK or French Bank? I have been away from operational banking for almost 30 years, but as early as 1981'ish, the Bank I was working for stopped 'paying the clearing' by not examining cheques for under £500 each day. The Risk Management approach adopted said that the minute percentage of cheques that contained irregularities made it an uneconomic activity. If a technical irregularity occurred and a customer complained, an ex gratia payment was made ...

In your case, there would be an onus on you to provide the Bank with a new signature and whatever supporting evidence it needed (the Bank probably wouldn't know you from Adam by sight) to confirm your change of circumstances to prove that they had made appropriate enquiries to protect themselves from any allegations of negligence et seq after paying cheques in future that bore the new signature. In practice, unless you made a complaint (and the Doctrine of Estoppel would work against you) that the Bank had paid cheques hearing forged or irregular signatures, the absence of checking signatures means that your changed circumstances would never be detected!
