I’m in Cotswolds area at the moment, can anyone recommend Any Motorhome repair garages in south England they use that might quickly may be able to replace the water tank on swift bolero, I think it has a leak but I’m gonna try have a look today. Cheers.

No one is going to carry a Swift Water Tank in stock so it's going to be a factory order unless you can get someone to make you one in which case you will need the old one out to find out where the fittings go. A Factory order could take weeks to arrive.

The Bolero we had had an external cover round the tank. Ours leaked from the fittings near the top. There is also a overflow fitted that just discharges water when it gets full. All you will see underneath is a black box with a hole in it where the drain comes out. The drain pipe is a screw in fitting and ours could be pulled out. In the factory they had put something like Sikaflex on he threads but it just leaked. Took it into Lowdhams and they supposedly RECUT the thread in the tank. I asked how they had recut it. What they had done was wrap loads of PTFE tape round the treaded part and forced it back into the tank then filled all round the hole in the outer tank cover with silicone. That they said would stop it leaking. What it did was stop the water leaking out but instead it just filled up inside the cover. This cover is something to do with winterising and has a heating element in it.

They finally took it all apart which is when they found it was leaking from near the top when it was full. It was leaking from the bottom where they had RECUT the thread.

Ps. What would that be called in the 2 photographs above. It’s connected up into the pump?

If it feeds the water pump it will be coming from the bottom of the tank so will have some sort of tube connected. If you remove it you are going to need something to seal it with so you will need some PTFE Tape. Well it's given you something to do rather than sit round all day drinking beer (y)

This is it from the inside so it needs held outside and tightened from inside. Damn awkward design. I could ave come up with something simpler n more user friendly I’m sure.

These MHs are built by craftsmen who have been bodging up bits like this for years. No point in making it an easy fix otherwise you would not need the monkeys down at the local Dealers to charge you an arm and a leg for sorting it. Dealer would take the tank out if it was under guarantee and charge Swift for a days labour.

Was wondering if the bit you can see is fitted by the tank manufacturer and Swift screw something else into it. If its got a nut of some sort on the inside it's going to be a right old job getting it out and back in again.

This is the part I need, as you can see the threads are worn and need replaced. Anybody got a part number or name to order one?
Cheers

This is the part needed incase there are any other swift Motorhomes fitted with the same piece of crap. Nylon threads are a real bad idea.
Cheers for input.

When someone cross threads it or tightens it up a little bit to much. Needs a neoprene washer on both sides to make sure it seals properly
