Hi all
I have researched this to death but cannot find a definitive answer.
We have a 2020 Swift Escape with a built in satnav/infotainment system that is great for cars but not something this big.
Is it possible to update it to be able to input the Motorhome dimensions or do we need to look at a separate satnav?
(I have seen a replacement for the original unit with all the spec built in but at an eye watering price of £1500 so would likely go for a Garmin if necessary)!
Thank you 👍

I use Caravan Co Pilot on 10" Android in the flip up. I keep the fitted one on as well but you can put dimensions into co pilot

No. You can't update the TomTom software to allow 'van size.
I ignore it and purchased a second hand Trucker TomTom on Ebay. Very satisfied with that arrangement.

Thank you for the confirmation.

When they build the Motorhome it surprises me that if fitting a satnav they don’t include the more relevant software :(

If you have a smart phone, go for Sygic Routing which is a paid for service but there is a special caravan/motorhome app. Car wise i always use Apple Maps which works well. Google is an alternative but neither of these allow dimensions put in. SatNavs are now considered old hat as they do not generally auto update and the same can be said for Sygic. Apple and Google give you live mapping including diversions for traffic delays. Otherwise try Waze which is crowd funded and also updates on the fly.

A further thought, replace the head with one that has Apple Car Play which connects to any smart phone and displays on the CarPlay unit. I installed a cheap £80 apple car play unit from China which was a right fiddle installing it but it works well if you ignore some of its idio-syncracies!
