Swift Kon-tiki 675
Exp
couple of years and loving it
We’ve owned our Kontiki 669 for just over two years and recently we’ve decided to upgrade to a 675, mainly for the garage space. Anyway I’ve found a van I like and I can’t make my mind up if it’s hugely overpriced at 106k for a twelve month old van with 4k miles on it. Problem is there is nowt out there to compare to. That aside I’ve been made some great offers on my 669. Infact I’m up 6-7k after those two years of use.
I’ve been to look at a 3 year old van today with 19k on the clock at a dealer near Shrewsbury, its on circa 97k but it’s in a shocking state of repair and generally very tatty. so that’s lead me to believe the more expensive van was the way to go.
One other thing that I’ve just noticed is that the more expensive van hasn’t got a dining table in any of the pictures. Are dining room tables an option, surely all vans come with them?

cheers

Steve

Dinning table is sometimes parked inside a cupboard out the way on English vans, useful as they can be used outside if wanted.
For 100K plus it would have to be a German Van for us, the insulated double floor, plus large garage for all the crud is essential in winter months.

PS: Sorry was typing as you were, glad you got the van you wanted.

Hi Steve, I love my new 874 and the layout is great for us, but the build quality is very poor when you consider we've spent over 100k, nothing that can't be fixed though, and I have a new Fiat tag axle at last!

We had the same dilema owning a 2 yr old kon tiki and how it was going to hold together in the long term, eventually changed if for a adria tag axle as the build quality seems better but time will tell. I have a brand new set of ducato specific silver screens surplus if youre needing some

I have found the build quality ok on the 675 but I'm quite practical and have sorted the few shortcomings myself with ease. These are things like loose trim etc, nothing too difficult. Our old Kon-Tiki was 6 years old and tbh was holding together very well, if it wasn't for the want of a big garage, I'd still have it.
On a side note, the 669 was a 3ltr manual the 675 a 2.3ltr auto, It seems to me the 669 was more economical on fuel and better to drive, certainly more grunt up hills. Neither is underpowered but I' surprised I miss the bigger more agricultural engine.
