Is it at all feasible to automate the drop down bed on a Swift Escape 604 ?
We would also like if possible to adjust the bed to drop lower. We love the 604 but the current manual operation is a two person job. There must be someone out there that can provide a service to automate and adjust and in the current market this would be the preferred option rather than changing model. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I'm not aware that this is possible I'm afraid. We originally wanted to buy a 604, but when we hired one we realised that we would need more storage space for longer trips. Our answer was a 614 - basically the same but with a garage added right across the rear behind the bathroom. It also comes with an electric drop down bed, which I'm afraid I think is quite different to the manual one in the 604 (incidentally I could lower / raise that manual one on my own in our hire van). I wasn't originally too keen on the idea of electric - something else that could go wrong - but it does have the advantage that it can be lowered further down than the manual version, perfect if there are only 2 of you sleeping in the MH.

Thanks , that might be an option but actually like the size of the 604. I have a feeling that the newer 604’s might now be electric , I might be wrong. If this is the case someone out there must have expertise to convert 🤞

My apologies - I thought the change was between models but you are probably correct about it being age instead (ours with electric is a 2021 model). I agree with you about the 604's size - it took some discussion about adding another 3/4m to the length, but so far it hasn't been a problem.

I have a 2020 swift escape 604 with a manual drop down bed. Has anyone else encountered difficulties getting it into the highest traveling position as mine does not go all the way up ! ?

I heard that the manual ones are less prone to problems with the mechanism as you're less likely to force it if something gets in the way whereas the electric motor just keeps going until it can't. That could be a myth but if I had a manual one might make me feel better!
