Sorry did post earlier but in a different section so thought I’d put in a busier area if that’s ok!

I’ve just been for a look around the Swift Escape 696 on 2012 and has Truma Ultrastore and ultra heat controls. There were three and I managed to get two controls working but we couldn’t get the one for the warm air on. No illumination like the other controls and no heat blowing wether on low or high. Does anyone know what it could be or what we were missing. Checked fuses and they were fine in the sergeant. Also had water heater and all the other switched on at the seargent. I’ve never seen a model with three before and we were stumped how to get it going. It was in electric hook up but no gas but the book said it should work on both? Would this be PCB related if no lights even and fuses ok Thanks

Sorry, it was on electric hook up not gas and we just couldn’t get the blown air on at all but I’ve finally found a YouTube video that helped.
The fire hadn’t been put on therefore it couldn’t pump it around. (Never seen one like that so didn’t think it was
Attached some pics of the controls now but the first control on the left wasn’t lighting up at all so didn't know if there was just no power to that. Maybe if the fire is on, warm air selected then it will just blow and no lights needed!
That first control wasn’t with the other two but positioned on the base board under the seats.

Never seen that arrangement before. How does it run on gas?
I *think* the dial on the fire itself on the right is used to fire it up on gas, but not 100%.
im hoping a swift escape 696 owner can come along and put me right on it all!
there is a Truma heater under the chairs but there is an access panel in the wardrobe to access behind the fire also so maybe two separate units as it were.

The 2 outside switches are for water heater, left is electric, right is gas.
The middle switch is for the electric heating, on my Swift Ace you have to press the heater button on the control panel, then set the temp, then the control panel button lights up to tell you the heater is ready, then you turn the knob in your pic to whichever setting you want (the higher the number, the quicker it will warm up) and the light on the knob should light up.
You then have the blower controls on top of the gas heater, manual or auto.
If on auto, it wont start blowing until the heater warms up.
The blower should work on manual without the heater turned on, just blowing cold air.
You might have another switch somewhere to turn the heater on, perhaps in a cupboard somewhere?
If you search Youtube for Truma Heating there are a couple of videos that will explain it better than me!

Hi i have a swift 644 with two switches above the bed one for gas boiler and one for electric heater inside the gas floor heater that has hot air fan control on top right of gas fire for duel heat output from the gas fire its self.

I have a 686, controls are in slightly different positions, and I am presuming the equipment is the same as mine!

It looks like your outer two controls are for the hot water either electric or gas.

The centre control is for the electric fire. You use the outer ring to select the wattage, I.e. 500w for low heat, 2000w when it's really cold! The centre of that dial is effectively the thermostat, I was always told it was the number x3 plus 3 degrees.

So set at 5 would be 18 degrees.

The fire will have some controls on it too. There will be the gas control then the control for the blown air fan.

The fan should work no matter what the fire is doing. It will have an outer ring to change from auto, manual, off or max. Then the center will rotate for manual fan speed.

It is all in the swift books that you can download from their website.

The numbers on the thermostat are pretty arbitrary. On my last motorhome 5 gave a pleasant temperature. On the current one anything higher than 2 is sauna territory.

Hi, thank you SVMC15 , it’s starting to make more sense to me now. Can I ask please, the control in the left picture for electric, should that light up at any point? And if I don’t put the fire on then can I expect it to blow any air at all through the vents in the van or not? That’s what we couldn’t get going

No the electric water heater doesn't show any lights.

The gas water shows green when on or red if it has failed to light.

The fire, if it is the same as mine, doesn't need to be on to run the blown air heating. Over the summer I used the blown air to keep the dog cool!

Like wise you can just have the fire on and not have the blown air on.

Left control operates blown air, right is the gas fire control. These are in addition to the controls in your photo.

Please don't be offended but for clarity the ultraheat is your fire and the ultrastore is your water heater which are different appliances. The water heater is blue and will be under a seat or maybe the bunk at the rear.

Not offended at all, clarity is good thank you 😃.
Maybe it just needed gas then to get the warm air on as it didn’t blow at all on hook up. Combi boilers are far easier 😂
