I would like to permananetly swap a 12v to QC 3.0 USB. Has anyone done this? What are the steps, tools needed etc?

Regards,

Mike

First establish the brand of fitting. Maybe CBE, in my Burstner they are Berker.
Usually the outer face plate just clips off then you will see the holding screws, remove and pull plate forward. As it's a 12v socket should be just 2 wires, a positive and a negative. Ensure power off, remove wires and reconnect new plate. Ensuring pos / neg in right place.. refit. Simple... 👍

The socket system looks like CBE. To take the old 12V socket out, the shiny bezel just clips off - I prefer to use a flat scraper to prise it off rather than a screwdriver that can leave marks. then 4 screws to remove the 12V socket module. The wires are push-on spade connections, note which is pos and neg.

I don't think CBE make a module with QC3 USBs. You can use a CBE blanking plate, cut a hole in it (drill and file if you haven't got a holesaw), and mount a round USB QC3 unit in the hole.
