I’ve got a Ducato which had the following MOT advisory when it was last done.

Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i)

My mechanical knowledge is pretty much nil, but I did read up on it and it didn’t seem to be anything urgent. It’s now coming up for its next MOT having covered about 7000 miles since the last one. My instinct is to get it sorted even if it only comes up as an advisory again. Advice please from those that know. Thanks.

Very vague, and poor reporting.

Bottom ball joint
Strut top mount
lower suspension arm bushes

Possibly steering track rod end, but doubt it with it not being mentioned as steering in report.

Id just get a new MOT done and see what this tester says. If it fails, or gets an advisory then ask for clarification.
I do like being with the vehicle when the MOT is done.

If it knocking like heck it needs fixing

My guess it’s a ball joint on the wishbone.

As per another thread on here I believe.

Very likely the lower wishbone inner bushes

this would be my interpretation of the advisory , and by arm pin he was probably referring to the slight possibility of the bolt being worn instead of the actual bushes, just covering both bases i suppose.

Thanks all for your replies. I’ll post the outcome.

Let them do the next Mot, if its an advisory or a fail , get them to show you before you leave. Then you will be in no doubt as to what it is.

I used to go through ever inch of the car before it's MOT.
Now I think sod it, if it fails they'll tell me what's wrong and the garage I use don't charge me a retest fee
me too i just check the lights and wipers and look at the tyres all in 10 min and let the tester do the rest

I think some MOT places think they must put at least some advisory notes on vehicles..

Ive had worn stearing racks, various bushes miraculously cure themselves over the space of 12 months. Alleluia 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
