Just had a lot of work done on my combi 4E boiler and engineer suggested an electrical surge may have caused damage to the pcb, I asked whether he thought a surge protector would be worthwhile when plugged in at home, he thought it may be a good idea.
Any thoughts out there or do you have one?

If a surge protector is the solution you need to take it wherever you plug in for hook up🤔 do you leave the heating turned on when at home? I would have thought if heating turned off it would not be affected🤔
