i'm a newbie
Have been looking at first family MH and want bunk beds - amongst all the options, looked at sun living A70 DK - made by Adria although bviously at the budget end of their offering - ticks a lot of boxes for us - has the large double overcab for us and bunk beds for kids. Also can get a 2017/18 for £40k which is my max max budget!

Want to take it skiing - any views on how sturdy they are???. We have looked at lot of these big overcabs that are popular for hire companies and some are pretty flimsy when you get inside. I am 6ft 4 so having to look at large double (min 2.10x1.5) as so many options ruled out by small beds, also how insulated would it be for -15 in the alps skiing???

Any views?

I also want to take a look at the benimar 313 as that, although a smaller van (<6m long), seems to have all that we need - budget might be a challenge there though....would be great if anyone has any alternatives with our criteria in mind.

For comparison I have a 2007 adria twin and looked at sunliving as a replacement and the build quality and equipment look to be more or less straight out of a 2007 twin.
Not sure what the quality on a new adria is but I can't afford those prices.

In the spec I can't find any mention of payload and they list it as 3500kg as standard. I noticed it has a reduced size fuel tank of 60lt instead of the standard 90lt. Manufacturers normally only do that when short on payload.
For a family I think you will need it on the maxi chassis at 4250kg at the very least,. You will need a C1 licence to drive over 3500kg.

Yep not a cheap pursuit!

Thanks - have a C1 licence so all good on that just need right vehicle, have lots of kit - paddleboards, bikes, kayak etc.... so weight mounts up quickly (and space!)

We went to Norway in our Burstner this year.
-6 to -10 at night so the gas heating was in use and how much gas you have will be a factor.
we have an underslung tank of approx 12Kg of gas I reckoned it would last only three days
We ended up using camp sites with electric hook up to keep warm.

I think it’s been edited to show 560kg
That's not going to be much use for a family with all that gear. You need 700kg just for 2.
I think he needs an absolute minimum of 1000kg preferably 1500kg.

I agree it isn't that much but lots of new vans are now 3500 or under. I can see more going that way!
