Sully Sur Loire (1 Viewer)

Can anyone advise if the above aire has been closed. It has a X against it on my All The Aires map. We start a 3 week trip tomorrow and it was one we was thinking of re-visiting.

been there twice, first time road to aire closed but we didn't know that as we hadn't been before, road diverted left down beside river where we found about 30 MH's parked so we joined them

next day exited at other end beside 'real' aire

second time only just negotiated the entrance which has massive boulders to deter anyone approaching 8m, we are 8.2m paid and said next time we will use the grass beside the river for free

just found this from our first visit in 2015 to the unofficial but free aire, with much better views

Last time we went there 2017, it was open. Don’t forget the chateau is closed on a Monday. My wife Gills decendents are Sullys. French Huguenots.

There's a review on CamperContact from 1st April by someone who stayed there with no mention it was closed. Just in case the date was a hint a report from March also suggests it was open.

Yes it is open and it is free. Stopped there 3 weeks ago on the way down to Spain. At that time the water was switched off because of frost although you could dump grey and black wastes. By now the water should be on again for the summer.

Beautiful Aire with views over the Loire and a short walk to a pretty little Château and town with shops and restaurants.
