Hi all, having a great trip and on a great site in Vichy at the minute. Going to head up to the aire at Sully Sur Loire, looks really nice. Has anyone been on it recently is it likely to fit up? And can anyone recommend a nearby commercial site if its full?
Thanks in anticipation
Safe touring
Steve

That's fill up, predictive text

ISTR there's a campsite very close, just a few 100yds further on along the same road ?

Thanx Sedge, always nice to have a plan B

Hi SteveG, Haven't been in the last 2 years , but from memory it holds quite a lot, and next door is a large parking area. Just a short walk from the aire is the Chateau
if you look on google earth

Two things about Sully,
There the entry is designed to make it difficult or impossible to get long MHs in/out, be very careful.
When full they open part of the next car park to be part of the aire.

Say hi to the dog at Vichy for me ! Are you on the aire or the site ?

On the site, nice facilities and a cheap offer on for MH's

Thanks fidget, seen it in the aires book and the Mrs likes the look so I guess we're going I must admit though I like the space on sites, not keen on 6ft neighbours! Thanks also someone else were at 7.5 m so I'll watch out

We were there last Sunday/Monday, there was what looked like a flea market in the field just before the aire which was very busy.
No trouble getting a place on the over spill next to the aire.

Keith..

Thanks Keith, heading up there tomorrow, do you think it was due to the holiday or generally busy?

Steve, I think it was mothers day, even the town was busy for a Sunday, if the aire is busy just slot into the overspill park like we did.
We will return there again in early September for the game fair, much cheaper than our own game fairs plus the weather is normally quiet warm. Enjoy your visit..:)

Keith.

Maybe now be too late for the OP, but we used the aire (or thought we had) last month, we had not been before and there is or was then at least what appears to be a temporary diversion off the road by the chateau down to a large grass area beside the river with about 40 MH's parked up, so we joined them

I wasn't aware of any or many driving right through, but in the morning we then drove past the 'official' aire as photos from Fidget. I was slightly confused as I had read about the tight entrance, just thought it was part of the change to the route.

There were another 30 or so MH's parked here as well, the entrance really does look tight, and for me I would use the field again if we go back (y)

You are correct the entrance is very tight. We were there two years ago and there was talk then of the entrance being altered due to how tight it was. it obviously has not been done.

We did see two moho's catch their skirts/rear wheel arches on the boulders when they were leaving whilst we were there.

Had 2 great and quiet nights there, what a fantastic place. Entrance is tight but easily do able with 7.5m

We were lucky with the pitch we got I think, ended up on one of the marked pitches, 1st on left as you enter. Great! Lovely town and the chateau was the best £5 I've spent in a while

First pitch on the left as you enter, loads of room and so, so quiet
