Looking for somewhere to go for a week to 10 days at the end of January
Like many others we were supposed to be in Spain warming our bones !
Turns out Darrell and Zoe were booked to go snow boarding in the French Alps too so we thought, why not make the most of a bad situation and try and have a short break in the UK
Looking at the south coast( ish ) or at least south of Norfolk
A place with some entertainment would be nice
Please keep in mind neither of us are spring chooks and cannot walk very far ( I admit I aint too bad but Mo suffers badly with her knees )

I even looked at Butlitz but that was a non starter

We have a midweek break booked at centre parcs at the end of Jan
Some time in the spa and just chill out time away from work. Cheap ish off season too.

Another vote for haven, sometimes get bargains from less than a tenner a night all in.
Entertainment and bars if you want but reasonabley quiet if that's what you want.

on the coast near Gower good discounts and offers will be very quiet but nice people

Why not dig out your CCC & C&MH books,(if you belong) there are a number of sites open all year and plenty of CS's & CL's?
Not a member of either now.. Terrible () as in really awful ! ) experiences with C&MC. and let CCC lapse because we are never in the UK
Re-joining for one trip is a bit OTT for me, and Cl's never have entertainment anyway

Some CL & CS's are behind pubs that do have entertainment, so I'm told?

Must agree about C&MC but isn't it good that we're all not the same and for just over a pound a week, I'll run with it for their smaller site network. :giggle:

Weve just spent 4 days along the coast from harwich to felixstowe of to butley tonight all free so far butley a tenner to fill dump and charge up

Your looking for the little green men in Rendlesham Forest, we know what your up to?

Do you have a Britstop book?
Yes, and would recommend it to any one:-)
If it was just me and her that is exactly what would be happening, but Darrell and Zoe want a camp site with all mod cons
We are equipped to stay off grid as long as we want, Dee not so much

Just go on a pub crawl. Did that a few years back 2017 into 18. Went to the Yorkshire dales a couple or days before new year eve. Just went for nice easy walks and found a pub in the afternoon. Parked in the car park asked if they were cooking . When they said yes asked if we had a meal and a few drinks can we crash in the car park. Not one pub said no. Had a great few days. Late January snow topped hills and the pubs will be screaming for customers spending. You will struggle with campsites and those that are open can't see them offering anything.

Don’t tell me where you are going. We may join you :xeek:

Pjgwiltshire’s idea seems great you could pick an area and wander from pub to pub, either coastline or area of beauty,or both, and even drop into a nice hotel with a spa for a night of luxury if you into that sort of thing, ive often seen motorhomes parked up when ive stayed at a warners hotel.

Thanks for that looks interesting

this may help too

How about White Horse Tattingstone, nice beer, you know the food is good and long walks for Dillon. Happy New Year to all.

Have you considered the New Forest, some great CLs with facilities and close to bus routes to Lyndhurst, Lymington, Christchurch, Bournemouth and if wanting a day out, the Isle of Wight. Look at Homefield CL, Hordle. Great site, all hard standing, toilets, showers, elect hook-up, MH waste point and bus stop right outside.

What about Sussex. This is an all year round site and owned by a Lord and Lady. Not on the coast though.
Or maybe Cornwall. Lovely site right in Heligan Gardens and close to beaches.
