Struggling to get my head around Alde Heat Exchanger (1 Viewer)

Evening all

We have a 2022 model Adrial with the Alde 3030 system and a fitted heat exchanger that doesn't have an external on / off switch as fitted to earlier models.

I believe that if we turn the panel on while we are travelling, with no heat source selected, and the hot water switched off if the boiler is empty, then the excess engine heat will be used to warm the heating system.

My main question is do I need to do anything else to make it work? I.e. set the circulation pump to continuous or anything else?

There's very little info in the manual.

We have a sonic with the heat exchanger and have a small rocker switch high up next to the hab door to operate it. When switched on can hear the pump under the ns hab bench seat. Makes for lovely under foot warmth when you park up

Thank you. Yes, the latest ones don't seem to have the switch any longer so its not so clear how to operate it, or even if you need to do anything apart from having the Alde switched on.

Is it more of an automatic thing now if the temp is below the set point with the engine running it kicks itself in?

On ours (not an Adria), that switch is used only if you are seeking to warm the engine, prior to departure, from the residual heat available from the habitation radiators. It is not used to use engine heat to warm the hab’n area.

It’s a 2022 Coral Supreme, I think it has changed slightly since yours as I am not sure it would work in reverse and pre warm the engine.

Ours works both ways. Set the Alde thermostat to a high temperature ,without gas, and the engine will warm the van. We have a 240v pump that does the opposite, warming the engine via the heating system, which must be running. To arrive on site with a hot heating system and hot water and leave with a warm engine is very nice.
