Hi. I haven't exhausted every outlet yet but struggling to find exchange cylinder ? (Peterborough).

Any reason I can't buy a BBQ gas regulator and use those lightweight bottles as in picture?

Those green bottles look like Patio Gas which will work in summer, but may freeze in winter, hence why we use the Red Propane bottles.
Try using Hamilton Gas products website, they are the main suppliers of all things gas, and are very quick to deliver also.

if They are clip on regulators not threaded difficult to fit, as you should have flexi pipe connected to regulator, just need to change hose if you could find blue bottles, alternately try flo gas stockist in your area. Have a few empty ones here I should return,

They look like the BP light bottles so no reason they wont be OK, but can't believe there is no Calor propane about.. seem to be a lot of retailers when you search the Calor website.

Those green fibreglass cylinders are the old bp gaslight. They are propane. Check refill prices, you may change your mind if wanting regular refills.

Assume you’ve been to pioneer and crowland caravans?

Got loads at the chandlery near us at the side of the canal, perhaps time to look at alternative suppliers (shops).

Big shortage at the moment apparently, it’s basically a leisure industry size and they had no demand for months and then suddenly massive demand with staff still furloughed probably ⚠️

We struggled to get a 6Kg propane a couple of weeks ago. Everywhere I rang locally were out of stock and only a couple of sites had stock and they were only selling that to those pitched up on their site.
Luckily one of our neighbour who's a tugger was going away for the weekend, so I gave him our empty and he came back with a full one. (y)

Down South here garages and agricultural merchants usually have the 6kg Calor propane cylinders.

If you can't find a refill and do get really short of gas Jev88 and fancy a trip down the A1 to Brampton hut, then your more than welcome to the unused 6Kg propane I have and replace it when you can get hold of one.

I exchanged a 6k at the Branch bros in Deeping St James, the post code isPE6 8EA.I also had bother around Peterborough. This was last week.

Speaking to them tomorrow.

If they are out of stock there’s a few petrol stations that stock calor, Jet at werrington and the one on the parkway between Waitrose and the old toys r us.

got a 6kg propane at mill hill garage at march yesterday

I guess demand has rocketed due to all the staycation m/home and caravanners.

What direction are you heading out when you go, may be try a place on route. Might let you pay over the phone to be sure it’s there for you.

Thanks for all the offers and help.
I can confirm Calor Peterborough ar still not open and so the local shortage of propane.
FLOGAS only too pleased to help and took an old BBQ Alto gas bottle as deposit and gave me their threaded 5/6kg bottle for £17! And loaned me an empty 11kg to test for fit in my small gas locker. Nice chaps.

I have been using a Safefill as back up but i do not know if theres a shortage of Calor around us (EastYorkshire). I fiilled up my Safefil 2weeks ago with 10 kg and it cost me £7 as aginst the £26 I paid backend of last year for 6kg Calor lite. So its worth the 12 mile round trip to get it filed by an attendant at the local Autogas station. The Safefil I have had for more than 10 years and its paid for its self many times over.

I see no shortage of lpg refills at garages. I was seeking a bottle. But happy FLOGAS have come through for me. Don't use enough to warrant a refillable bottle just yet and especially after seeing many garages stopping sales.
