We get the Chunnel on 24/11 heading south. Looking for a site or aire which is open in November no more than about 2 hours south of Calais somewhere near the A28/E44, and NOT driving through Rouen.
Struggling a bit with this one - any suggestions please?

Thanks but Bing Maps says 2 hours 50 mins from Calais - looking for a bit less of a drive.

Aire at Neufchatel-en-Bray about 2 miles from the A28/E44 junction. Got hookups, wifi, water and dump and on hardstanding. It was about 12 Euros per night when we were last there. But does get quite full.
If it is full drive a couple of miles up the D1 to Mesnieres-en-Bray and there is a more basic Aire there for free. No EHU though - just parking water and dump.

You won't find many campsites open this time of year in Northern France

Neufchatel en Bray or Montreuil if you want nearer
Montreuil in wrong direction and Bing maps says 3 hours from Calais. Looked at Neufchatel but Camping St Claire is not open although I've just spotted what I think is an aire called Camping St Claire which is open all year - is this the one you were suggesting? By the way, our next stop is Parc Verger - maybe we'll get to meet you.

La Mailleraye-sur-Seine will nicely bypass Rouen and will be free at this time of year.
It might be a bit far though as it's about 3 hours from the channel.
As already suggested Montreuil-sur-Mer will be a shorter drive and is a very pleasant spot.
If you've never been there here is a short video:-

Are you looking at the right Montreuil as there are two.
Montreuil-Bellay is just south of the Loire whereas Sur-Mer is halfway between Calais and Abbeville. Probably about an hour south.

As reminded elsewhere - most of the aires in Northern France will have the water turned off so make sure you've got enough to get to Parc Verger just in case.

Le Tréport site if you fancy electric - it is £9.70 though, not the most scenic parking but a nice little town 10-15 minutes walk away. 90 mins from Calais if you use tolls.

Services are currently on although it's packed to the rafters due to the bank holiday.

Full Time 2011-2013, now part timers!
Neufchatel every time! We were there last week, and the Aire now has a shower and toilet, as well as washing machine and dryer, electric and hard standing. All for €12! It's about 1.5hours from the tunnel, and within walking distance of a couple of supermarkets and a pretty little town. It's also on the Avenue Vert for a nice walk or cycle direct from the Aire. Owned by the same people as the campsite (which is shut at this time of year), and beautifully kept.

We are on Mesnieres en Bray at the moment Dude.

Quiet little gravel aire with a grey dump and black dump, open to fields at the back, bit basic but does the job.

Small pleasant village with one shop, drive through it in about 45 seconds.

Hoping to squeeze into Neufchatel tomorrow for some R&D and hot showers after 12 days on the road.

The Aire at Neufchatel is next to the Camping St Claire and is owned by the same people.

Suggest you download aire locations from Camping car infos, Search for Sites, Bordatlas etc there is a wealth of information out there and these sites also have smartphone apps to which are very good. If you arrive at an aire to find it closed or there is no water you should be able to find an alternative.

@ The Dude, on Neufchâtel now.

€12 a day, looks like €2 for a 10 minute shower.

Free wifi, but open, no security.

Good bourne.

CCTV Security.

Decent pitches, 14 in total.
