5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
 Being a bit of a petrol head, I notice these things :cool:I am wondering if the E85 petrol is eating through their fuel pipes ? I have noticed the strong smell of petrol everywhere there are vehicles, so far! I dont remember it being this bad last time I was here.

Could be Mrs Fusion getting friendly?😂😂

Have you had Covid?

I smell weird smells everywhere since.
No its everywhere, just had a car go past on the campsite, stinking of petrol fumes. Last time I smelt petrol on cars like this was when I had an ancient Allegro, which used to leak petrol out of the fuel system & out of the carb. There is definately a problem

Last time we had a petrol smell I had overfilled my scooter which was in the vans garage.

No smell of petrol everywhere in Italy, so definately a correlation between French petrol & vehicles. My guess is saving the planet with high ethenol petrol is causing a major degredation of fuel line systems, releasing huge amounts of petrol vapour. Another win for greenwash.....

We’ve been here 10 days and stayed in 4 different places plus cycled 90 miles and I have a strong sense of smell and haven’t noticed anything so I think it’s you!

I dont think its me, there is a stark contrast in air quality & petrol fumes between Switzerland/Italy & then France. I am going back to France so will see!

My next door neighbour has a Audi suv and she broke down a few days ago. When the recovery truck arrived and she said
I can smell petrol. He straight away said it’s the new fuel dissolving the rubber rings around the injectors. He said I have attended dozens of these this month. He was spot on 4 rubber seals and about 4 hours labour. We have plugs so we can use the new E10

Thanks for that! I believe E85 petrol is sold routinely in France, so in that case the rubber is dissolving quicker!! Which would make sense !!!

On a serious note, this is a warning to always have the fridge and boiler turned off gas when entering a filling station.
Leaky LPG systems & leaky petrol lines, what could possibly go wrong.
