Heard that the Stratford Upon Avon River Festival http://www.stratforward.co.uk/events/stratford-river-festival/whats-on is a good free festival & understand that C&CC ran a rally at Stratford Racecourse Touring Park (CV37 9SE) at the last one - perhaps this would be a good idea as a Fun rally for next year?
We can't commit to organising this one as likely to be busy being a removals & relocation service for our uni son around that time again next year but would be one we would love to attend if we can.
Anyone else think this might be a good one & consider trying to set up & run a rally for it?

19/11/17 UPDATE - this rally is now open for bookings - please message us (PM) with your email address for a booking form :active:

Please note only "Booked" places are secure - those on the "Interested" list need to complete the booking form & pay the deposit to be sure of a place.

Rally info.

Arrivals day is Friday 29 June from 11am-8pm - please note that you need to arrive on this day to come on this rally. Departure by midday on Monday 2 July.

The toilet & shower block with bins, water tap & Elsan waste point at the Racecourse are a short walk from our rally field. UPDATE: See here http://www.stratforward.co.uk/events/stratford-river-festival for the River Festival brochure with what's on & when - page 17 shows pages 15-16 with times of the entertainment. We hope to have paper copies (with discount card) for everyone that we will hand out on arrival as have some held for us that we will collect in advance :)

Suggested Itinerary (more to come?!) :
Friday - Arrivals & invitation to all from 7pm onwards to come along with a mug or a glass full of your favourite tipple & gather in the "Meeting Area" .All very casual - bring a chair if you like or just wander around & chat to fellow members. No pressure to join in so those that would rather do their own thing then that's fine too. We will probably still be working until at least 8pm but once everyones in & we've eaten we'll be there too :hi5:
We will bring our shelter - it's not huge but it will provide a focal point where everyone is welcome to gather in & around - luckily the weather forecast is looking promising! :sun:

Saturday - Racecourse Car Boot Sale 9am-1pm -
hunt for a bargain on our doorstep :)
Stratford River Festival 11am-10pm - take a walk from our rally field to sample the culinary delights & entertainment at this free festival & explore the town.
Meeting Area Social - everyone is welcome to gather in & around the shelter, have a chat, sing a song or just fall asleep in a chair after a busy day!

Sunday - Bring & Buy Sale 10am - Midday -
all are welcome to bring your unwanted, craft or homemade items (cake? :inlove:) to sell in the rally field. Please list your items on this thread https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/stratford-river-festival-bring-buy-sale-items.176404/
Stratford River Festival 11am-7.30pm - more good food & music.
Meeting Area Social With Quiz From 8pm kindly organised & run by Chris & Alice @Chrysalis (y) - everyone is welcome.

Monday Morning -
time to say goodbye :(

Anyday -
some ideas for more to do individually or maybe as a group:
Stratford Butterfly Farm - http://www.butterflyfarm.co.uk/attraction/index.php - a short walk from the festival area & Tesco Clubcard vouchers can be used for entry https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/boost/stratford-upon-avon-butterfly-farm/UK-009620.prd (y)
Group Drinks, Lunch Or Evening Meal - whether it's a Fun & RVOC member rendezvous in Wetherspoons https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html or a yummy meal in Lambs Restaurant https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html there are plenty of good places for a meal out in Stratford.
The Greenway Easy Walking/Cycling path https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186399-d213922-Reviews-The_Greenway-Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html runs next to the Racecourse so ideal for exercise or dog walks.

As much as I love a rally and Stratford.
This would only be a few weeks after the Stratford show and if the organisers do the same and allow 10 days of camping maybe people will be bored with the location or would have already moved on..

BUT thanks on the "heads up". (y)

We are lucky to have a growing number of meets & rallies & even if this might be a small one it might suit some who can't go to the Stratford Motorhome Show as their dates may clash with other events or commitments. Think with so many members now & with us seeing lots more Newbies & First Timers :) (long term members who have not been to a Fun meet or rally before) coming along the more choice the better. Full timers might like an extra long cheap stay at Stratford if it did work out that way but take your point that it wouldn't be suitable for all. With festivals like this one growing in popularity hopefully someone will think it's worth exploring as an option & take it from there...

I went to this one and it was brilliant, the entertainment was first class, it's a weekend that I think funsters would enjoy, I would like to go with the group if you are going in 2018 and the following weekend is usually Napton rock festival , also great fun

As some interest in this & checking our dates for next year Alan & I should be able to run this as a Fun Rally so we have contacted Stratford Racecourse Touring Park & they can accommodate us! Our camping area would be a one mile scenic walk away from the lively River Festival & the same distance from the town (on the opposite river bank to the Festival) so a really good location (y) Now we just need enough Funsters & RVOC members to make this viable so please register your interest.

Rally info.
Arrivals day would be Friday 29 June from 11am-8pm - please note that you would need to arrive on this day to come on this rally. Departure by midday on Monday 2 July.
