We enjoyed the rally at Stratford Racecourse for the River Festival this year https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...r-boot-sale-rally-29-june-2-july-2018.156238/ & had lovely feedback from Funsters & RVOC members :hi5: so we are running this one again in 2019.

upload_2018-10-11_15-25-21.jpeg

The Stratford River Festival is held on both Saturday & Sunday in a park on the edge of the river a pleasant walk away from the rally field.
There is a car boot sale on the Saturday morning in a field next to the Racecourse as well as all the retail & coffee shops, pubs & restaurants in the town.
We hope to have a Bring & Buy Sale in the rally field & possibly also add the option of group visits to the nearby Indian restaurant, RSC Theatre & maybe the Butterfly Farm.
The Greenway runs close to the Racecourse & is a traffic free walking & cycle route. Please note that you may have to lift bikes over a locked gate to access the Greenway but there's a "kissing gate" for pedestrians next to that.

Arrivals day is Friday 5 July from 11am-8pm - please note that you need to arrive on this day to come on this rally. Departure by 11am on Monday 8 July.
Cost is £30 total per motorhome (campervan, PVC, RV, Fifth Wheeler or caravan - we like them all :giggle:) for 3 nights for maximum of 2 adults - please contact us if you require more than this. £10 non-refundable deposit & your completed booking form are required to secure your place then the remaining £20 by 5 June 2019 so four weeks before the Rally - payment to be made by Paypal Friends & Family or bank transfer. Full details will be on the booking form.
The toilet & shower block with bins, water tap & Elsan waste point at the Racecourse are a short walk from our rally field. If you need to fill up with water on arrival there is a tap in front of the stables near the Racecourse (Touring Park Campsite) entrance which you should be able to drive up to but best to come with full water tanks & empty waste if you can as it may be busy.
Dogs are welcome but must be on leads, in an enclosure or tethered in the rally field.
Generators can be used but only for short periods when necessary during the day but please let us know on your booking form as you will be pitched away from any it might annoy!
Barbecues are allowed so long as they are off the ground.

This is the location for the rally field in the middle of the track - it's through the Racecourse Touring Park Campsite & then bear right going across the race track then follow that track & you should see our signs & flags https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/52°10'52.5"N+1°43'18.0"W/@52.18125,-1.7229991,293m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d52.1812517!4d-1.721679
Please also see map as an attachment with key below.

Stratford Racecourse address is Luddington Road, Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 9SE but they advise following the brown Racecourse signs on the approaches to Stratford.

Thank you everyone - this rally is full now! :hi5:

If you like this rally then still a few places left for this one at Lymington https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...ew-forest-isle-of-wight-beaulieu-golf.185164/
& this meet on the coast near Bridport, Dorset https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...hlands-end-bridport-dorset-11-15-july.180950/ is also full but details there for alternative camping plus a great selection for 2019 here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/events/ (y)

Suggested itinerary which may change as we get closer to the time:

Friday - Arrivals 11am-8pm & invitation to all from 7pm onwards to come along with a mug or a glass full of your favourite tipple & gather in & around the shelter in the "Meeting Area" . All very casual - bring a chair if you like or just wander around & chat to fellow members. No pressure to join in so those that would rather do their own thing then that's fine too. We will probably still be working until 8pm but once everyone is in & we've eaten we'll be there too :hi5:
As we have just one shelter (making it more of a focal point for gathering!) if anyone else can bring anything like the Coleman Event Shelter to add to this that would be much appreciated - please let us know.

Saturday - Racecourse Car Boot Sale 9am-1pm - hunt for a bargain on our doorstep :) - held in a field near to the entry gate for the Racecourse.
Stratford River Festival 11am-10pm - take a walk from our rally field to sample the culinary delights & entertainment at this free festival & explore the town. Look here https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/52°10'52.5"N+1°43'18.0"W/@52.18125,-1.7229991,293m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d52.1812517!4d-1.721679 for the dotted lines to see the various footpath routes to the town from the rally field - you need to cross the bridge either before or once in the town (or try the chain ferry) to get to the Recreation Ground for the Festival. We like to vary our route to see different parts of Stratford & views of the river.
Midday - RSC performance (free) in The Dell gardens - Julius Caesar https://www.rsc.org.uk/events/the-dell
3pm - RSC performance (free) in The Dell gardens - A Midsummer Night's Dream
Evening Meeting Area Social -
everyone is welcome to gather in & around the shelter, have a chat, sing a song or just fall asleep in a chair after a busy day!
10.15pm watch the Festival fireworks from the field (not too noisy for dogs) or from down by the river for the best view.

Sunday - Bring & Buy Sale 10am-11am (weather permitting) - all are welcome to bring your unwanted, craft or homemade items (cake? :inlove:) to sell in the rally field. There's a separate thread https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...atford-river-festival-rally-july-2019.198714/ so items can be listed on there as well.
Either take a table to near the event shelter (from 9.45am for setting up) to make it easy for potential buyers to find you or just outside your motorhome is also fine but if you aren't near lots of others selling then may be better to move nearer - it's a big rally field!
Stratford River Festival 11am-7.30pm - more good food & music.
Midday - RSC performance (free) in The Dell gardens - Kate (Taming Of The Shrew)
3pm - RSC performance (free) in The Dell gardens - Troilus & Cressida
6pm
Group Indian meal in Cafe Chutneys a few minutes walk out of the gate of the Racecourse.- please book your table calling 01789 204427 giving your name & that you are part of Motorhome Fun Group so our tables are together & post on here to let us know.
Evening Meeting Area Social - everyone is welcome.

Monday Morning - time to say goodbye :crying1: until the next time & depart by 11am. We need the field clear by this time please as we also have to leave promptly to go & get organised for the next Fun Meet!

Anyday - some ideas for more to do individually or maybe as a group:
Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre - https://www.rsc.org.uk/ - next to the river for a cultural & entertaining experience & the cakes & coffee in the cafe are good too!
Stratford Butterfly Farm - http://www.butterflyfarm.co.uk/attraction/index.php - a short walk from the festival area & Tesco Clubcard vouchers can be used for entry https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/boost/stratford-upon-avon-butterfly-farm/UK-009620.prd (y)
Drinks, Lunch Or Evening Meal - whether it's a Fun & RVOC member rendezvous in Wetherspoons https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html or a yummy meal in Lambs Restaurant https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html or a takeaway from Cafe Chutneys https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html there are plenty of good places for food or a meal out in Stratford.
The Greenway Easy Walking/Cycling path https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186399-d213922-Reviews-The_Greenway-Stratford_upon_Avon_Warwickshire_England.html runs next to the Racecourse so ideal for exercise or dog walks.

Know it's a bit early for some but it would be appreciated if as many as possible that want to join us do book now so that we can be sure that we have enough to make this rally viable again then we can open the booking for Lymington Seafood Festival Rally too :)
