The other day when I started the engine of my Hymer 2008 on Fiat, a yellow warninglight came on and stayed on. After I restarted I never saw it again. Being a nosey bugger I would like to know what it was. The light showed a wheel in motion and gravel flying away from it, as if it wanted to say you are spinning your wheels to much. I didn't do that so that can't be it. I tried to find the answer on internet, but no joy. Anybody knows? Thanks in advance, Hans.

I've seen that sort of symbol on our Polo if I get wheel spin. Very odd if not moving.

Do you have ABS brakes ?
If so it's probably traction or stability control warning and could be a failing wheel sensor.
Only accurate way to check is connected to an oscilloscope which will show if its functioning properly or a professional OBD reader which may show a stored fault code.

Or, it could just have been an ECU glitch.

It's the ESC or whatever Fiat call it. If one front wheel exceeds the speed of the other the ESC applies the brake to the faster wheel. An occasional flash is nothing to worry about & can be caused by normal operation of the vehicle.

On the 2008 X250 it is the traction control when if is lit it means traction control if turned off (on by default). To check press the traction control button and it should light up.
On later X250's and X290 with traction plus traction, traction control is permanently on and the switch turns on Traction Plus which is on when the dash light is lit.

Ours is a Mk6 Transit and has this as a switch on the dash. By default it is ON but if deactivated the symbol lights up saying OFF. Trouble is I'm not really sure how to use it (or should I say when to use it) Any advice would be appreciated.

It will also happen if you start engine whilst jacked up & the wheels rotate. Light will come on as difference between wheel speeds. Disappears once back on ground & restarted & moving.

Our 07 Fiat based unit had the ESC on it.. Had exactly the same thing.. Called up Fiat and they said as above.. nowt to really worry about as it is the system balancing its self ( make of that what you will !! )

Thank you all. I haven't seen the warninglight again, so it must have been a glitch. Thanks again, Hans.
