Hopefully off Feb1 to Santander (Galicia) travelling solo since my other half is still working.
I'm after advice for stops on a fairly brusque run from Santander to Cartagena to get to the sun pronto.

So my questions are:
1) The boat docks at 2:30. How long to disembark?

2) Is it realistic to make the Fuentes Blancas campsite in Burgos the same day before the light goes at 5:30? (since I don't fancy navigating an unknown town in the dark in search of the campsite)

3) If Burgos is unrealistic I have identified a newish stopover at a petrol station close to Santander. I envisage using this only if there are serious delays in the arrival or disembarkation at Santander since it is only 15km out of town.

or alternatively on the scenic route about 50 mins out of Santander
the stop over at Barrio Ontaneda

any feedback on either of these?

If the weather is half decent I'' stay at the Fuentes Blancas campsite for a couple of nights to get a look at Burgos.

4) Gmaps suggests Burgos to Cartagena is 6hrs 20min drive and that, with stops, is more than I'd want to do. So any suggestions for an intermediate stop?

I should add that I'm fine with campsites as well as stopovers, since this is my first trip solo in a newish van to that part of Spain I am not yet looking for any wildly off-piste suggestions, just functional and ideally with fresh water and grey and black dump.

Thx in advance

We've successfully used the site at Burgos a couple of times after getting off the ferry in Santander but, if I recall, our scheduled arrival was perhaps a couple of hours earlier, shortly after mid-day. A sat-nav should get you there OK and it's a big site with some local signposts - but not sure if you'll make it before darkness in February - depends how long it takes to disembark - probably a good idea to have a 'Plan B' that's closer, as you suggested.

ACSI campsite 30 or 40 miles south of Madrid at Aranjuez, where the Spanish Royal family have an impressive palace in the centre of town.

And if you fancy another stopover, just south of Alicante, at Crevillent, then Camping Las Palmeras is one we like a lot. Also an ACSI site. And it should be significantly warmer there.

You should make Burgos okay, will be doing exactly the same in 3 weeks time. You can stay at Aranjeuz around 30 mile south of Madrid which is well worth a stay over to visit the royal palaces.
Easy run to Cartagena from there which we have done many times.
