Grew up in them! But not owned as an adult.
Me again. Newbie here looking for suggestions. We're touring whilst following the rugby world cup in 2023, so looking for suggestions of where to stay. I'm struggling to find some campsites or aires anywhere near St Etienne, or Lyon. Anyone got any ideas please?
Thanks.

Hello. I do not have a lot of knowledge of the area but I suspect that you may have to book on a site to get a spot. All the aires will be rammed so just turning up could be disappointing.

Have you seen the replies to your post yesterday where you asked more or less the same question and a couple of Apps were also suggested?

Thanks, we would be booking, but struggling to even find campsites.

Yes, thanks. Unfortunately I am struggling to find anything in or near St Etienne, so hence my question for ideas. Although those apps show some parking spots, I'm not sure that they'd be suitable for evening/overnight to attend a rugby match. I'm struggling to find any campsites in the area at all, which we can use to access the town and I hoped some funsters might have suggestions.

Search for Sites shows a few sites around both areas. Though not in the places themselves.

Thank you - I've seen those on SfS, but again getting access to get into St Etienne is the concern, and out late at night.

Check out the local rail services to see if they run to a local town late at night?

Thanks - I have, that's why I'm struggling. A lot of the campsites are out of town, so getting into town first is a hurdle, but then often I've seen that the trains or buses are not running after the matches... hence the struggle. ;-)
