Two years in and still learning! Put the glass hob cover down on a lit gas ring and bang, large explosion. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement in a similar finish as the sink, see picture? It's a Thetford model 345 burner rectangular in a Hymer Carrado T339 Beige/white finish. On -line seems to be finished in black or clear only. I suppose I could replace the sink to black also but seems a waste. Thanks.

You could buy clear one and cover it with white DC-fix sticky back plastic, comes in white gloss or matt finish.

Three years ago we did a similar thing with the glass hob cover on our Geist motorhome. Not many in this country.
Tried various places and second hand. My husband made a wooden cover. But that singed if replaced too soon after using the hob.
Anyway Geist is part of the Hymer group. I found the Geist/ Hymer main agent online. After emailing him with our problem he asked for photos of hob the LMC plate. In our case this was beside habitation step. They then contacted Hymer who had all the build details. A glass top was sourced. From Germany. Expensive including carriage. But now sorted.
Have used them again this year when trying to source o replacement roof vent that wasn't available from other sources.
The firm was Camper UK.
Can't remember name of person who helped but he was excellent.
Good luck

Might be better getting a local glazing company cutting a piece of tempered \ toughened glass to shape? Guess it could be blasted to make "opaque white".

We did try to get a glazing company to replace ours. They were very reluctant and quoted price as high as the imported one. I think it was the risk involved in drilling the holes for fixings. Can't remember now. Laminated heat resistant glass is very expensive apparently.

I replaced the lid on our hob with a shaped sheet of aluminium. It was rectangular, with rounded corners. I bought the rectangular plate and rounded the corners myself (jigsaw and file). Also drilled finger hole and holes for the hinges. I made sure the new plate was the same thickness as the old glass plate.

Your plate is obviously circular, with a flat end near the hinges and a rounded finger cutout. I just found a random company on the internet. If you don't want it in plain grey metal you could have it anodised, many colours are available.

I would be surprised if the hob glass is laminated.

As they normal explode like old windscreens it’s probably just toughened.
