Front wheel disc brake sticking........hmmm!

Took the wheel off but can't find any bolts that hold the calliper on.........anyone know?

It's a Chevy chassis by the way :)

Cheers in advance

why would you want to stick a caliper on your willy surely a rule or tape measure would do the same job, Oops Winnie, must get new glasses, hee hee.

I had the same problem with several RVs in the past due mainly to lack of use. It was ALWAYS the rubber flexi pipe that had separated on the inside. They are made up from an outer and inner pipe and will allow fluid through when you press the peddle but wont allow it to release when you take your foot off.

come to think of it Dave I had one the same on my FG360. So a simplish fix just remove the hose and it should release, time to change all of the hoses then.

Wow!! they wan't £99.00 each + VAT.................would be cheaper to have them made :/ got another couple of places to try now :)
If you think thats expensive, I hope its not the callipers that need rebuilding.

Ok, spoke to R.V Spares who I have bought bits from in the past who reckons it won't be the brake hose, it will be the calliper that has seized after being stood for almost 3 years.

Price for 2 x recon callipers = £340 inc vat & p&p
4 new brake pads = £105 inc vat & p&p

And I have to send him my old ones.

Thoughts??

Cheers for that Snowbird, talked to him for over an hour today, he certainly knows his stuff.........and he recommended DB Motors at Lester, A guy called Martin who talked me through the whole process and has a wealth of knowledge :)

As a result I've ordered the reconditioning kit for all 4 callipers, new high friction front pads, and 6 bottles of DOT 3 brake fluid to flush the system....all for £260.00 :D

Now all I need is the bottle to start doing it lol....oh and what size is the Alen nut the hods the calliper on? :D
