Anyone out there have any ideas why my Sterling 60amp B2B has stopped charging or has it just broke. The unit is 3yrs old and has worked great until about a week ago I noticed it was charging sporadically and yesterday no charge. It comes on ok and I have done a factory reset I’ve checked all the connections they are fine it just doesn’t put a charge into the leisure battery

Further to my last post I lied I thought I’d checked all the connections but it seems I didn’t and have just found this the live wire to the battery has melted could anybody tell me why so I don’t make the same mistake again. I think I was a very lucky man

I suspect that the screw terminal wasn't sufficiently tightened and worked loose, leading to a high resistance connection. I'm not a fan of screw connections onto bare wires for these big current cables, and when I installed my B2B charger, I used swaged copper ring connectors that bolt to the charger terminals.

Agree probably a loose connection screw also if it is a 60 amp B2B probably worth going up a cable size.

Send it back to Sterling. They are very good and will often repair it FOC or advise you if it's not faulty.

OOooppps :Eeek:
That will teach me to read the complete thread :drinks:

I've never really been sure mine has ever worked but my batteries are always charged.
I cant see it inside the cupboard and wouldn't really know what to look for.

Its more confusing because the solar panels are also charging them.

Lenny, Garret, your exactly right I’m currently in France at my friends he came to the same conclusion and lucky for me has helped me fix it
