Euro 6 regenerative charging

Just watched a youtube video (link above) by Charles Sterling about why not to use a split charge relay with a euro 6 engine. Are builders still using split charge relays or have they all gone over to B2B charging.

Hymer have started using an alternator booster on their Mercedes based motorhomes. I think the booster is some form of B2B or Alernator2B device to overcome the limited smart alternator charging of leisure batteries. Fiat have been disabling their smart alternator settings for motorhome manufacturers so boosting is not essential. It is possible with the new testing procedures and the need to give CO2 figures that Fiat might have to leave the smart alternator function turned on. They have already gone over to AdBlue now that the tests are more realistic and cheating on them is likely to be spotted.

So unless it can be enabled then fitting a B2B charger would be pointless

Maybe not essential but it will look after your batteries by providing the charging profile best suited to the type of battery.
