I think this would work if the weighbridge was level but, unfortunately, it wasn't.
The weighbridge was raised.
When my van had its front wheels on it, the van was then at an angle.
This would make a difference to the actual weight.

It would but the effect would be minimal if the lift was only say six inches or so. If you imagine the centre of gravity being say where the habitation door lock is* then imagine raising the front wheels up a little, the centre of gravity only moves backwards a tiny amount - and this will have little impact on the front wheel loading.

*It isn't there of course!

Thanks, DBK.
I will try this after my appointment at the garage on Wednesday if they can't find anything wrong.

Hello everyone,
I am very new to motorhoming - 9 weeks and counting.
My name is Ken and my wife is carol.
So far we have toured the UK for 9 weeks and have just returned from Cornwall - a truly lovely place.
I have one problem and would really appreciate any advice.
My motorhome is a Knaus Sky Ti on a Fiat Ducato 130 chassis.
It is two years old and 'as new' in every respect.
I bought from a lovely couple who advertised it on this forum.
My problem is in driving it on motorways.
The steering is extremely light and I have to really concentrate on keeping it in a straight line.
On the M5 this morning, on some stretches of concreted motorway it was drifting all over the place and I had to reduce speed to 45 mph just to have any control.
I can never go above 60 mph because it seems so unstable.
Any help or advice, please, would be very welcome.
Hello. I have just read this old feed with some interest as I have exactly the same problem. I got a garage to check the tracking and it was out so they corrected it. It's still horrible to drive, can be downright scary and it's got nothing to do with weight distribution. My guess is a combination of toe-in and a generic design fault. Very interested to know what was the outcome of your findings.
Thanks
Andy

I see that the OP never reported back as to what caused his problem.
