.
I was just reading about the corner steady legs.
I know when we had a caravan they were an essential item.

As the Moho is old I am not going to get electric or any other type of level system.

but thinking maybe corner steadies may be a little help. Not for levelling but just to stop the moving while inside
or on a windy night.

has anyone fitted them on an older Moho and we’re they of any use…

also where would they be fitted . I hope it’s not just the underside of the floor and if is would it need some strong long metal plates to spread the load.

I fitted caravan type on a Autocruise Starfire, I fitted the to towbar

We have an alko chassis with alko jacks mounted behind rear axle to the chassis.
They swivel from a horizontal travel position to a vertical jacking position.
Work well steadying van. Do try and remember to lift jacks before driving..........
Now we have air assist bags on rear axle and dont use the jacks.

Mine's an older (1995) m/h and I've never had any need to use the corner steadies.

I am rapidly going off the idea myself now.
I can mount them on large metal plates to spread the load with no problems .

but don’t like the idea now of drilling large holes through the side skits so as to use a tool to jack them up.
I do have two Fiat Ducato scissor jacks aboard so if it was that bad and we feel we have to do something I guess I could use them.

I think I may be once again trying to add stuff I would not need .

Use my rear steadies nearly every night we stay in it. Stops it moving when people move about or in the windy conditions.
one minute I’m up for them the next i am not then again I am up for them again.
I think I will see where this thread goes before making a decision .

Yep. Waking up everytime the wind blows, wife goes to the toilet, or dog decides to move, isn’t my idea of holiday.

I had four lightweight aluminium axle stands, two under the rear bar that had the tow bar on and the behind the front wheels at the jacking points just screwed them up and got them tight, not trying to lift the vehicle but they worked well and really firmed it up, no rocking or wobbling.

Have a look on amazon, mine were fiamma but there are lots of others even seen plastic ones, ideal for firmness without trying to lift.

Even if one does use something to steady a MH I am sure it does not have to be strong as it is only taking the little excess movement that has just about overcome the normal suspension, not the whole load of the vehicle.

just fit airbags on the rear axle, works to assist suspension on the road and on site pumped up a bit more works as stabilisers. 2 jobs in one

Have any more details something maybe I should look at.
it’s an old Moho and may not be worth fitting.

I fitted these to my 2003 swift, I've got air assist on the back but I used to have a residence room fitted when we were in the race pits and needed to keep the van still or the room scuffed the van
Took them off when I stopped racing, they were mounted under the chassis extensions using existing holes

Just a thought, if welding steadies onto the van, will you need to contact the insurance!? Something hubby and i considered.

even one of the cheap ebay sets will improve the stability of your van. It pretty much removes the issues caused by large vehicles driving past you fast and rolling on corners and roundabouts. Well worth the under £200

whats the name of the air bags and corner steadies
just decided to go for the air bags.

Timpro air bags on eBay seems as good as any others. And quite easy to fit.

Really depends on what you are doing inside,
"When the 'van's a' rockin, don't come knockin' !!!

My little romahome came with corner steadies, only used the once.

A couple of cheap and cheerful Halfrauds scissor jacks and an assortment of bits of wood.
Seldom used, but come in handy every now and then

I bought a pair on the forum and fitted them to chassis the slimes are below skirts so no holes rquired we find they do steady the ship and we have full air as well😊👍

I've now got a couple of one year old corner steadies taken off my fiat ducato chassis as we've now got auto levellers. I'll be advertising them shortly. Around £145 plus postage. Message me if you're interest.

I always use mine when I park up, even on the driveway at home. I figure it will slow down any potential thieves as its add a few minutes to their "task".
