It is looking likely that a lot of us maybe rethinking our travel plans eigher through choice or because of restrictions.
We all have local knowledge of our own areas so maybe we could exchange ideas for places to visit.
My area is North Wales I would always say check the weather that way you can get full advantage of the beautiful scenery in Snowdonia, walk the wonderful Costal Path around Anglesey and visit its many beautiful coves and beaches.
Take time around Llangollen with its canal and rich heritage its so worth popping into the library the rich history is there for you to discover.
Conway, Deganwy, Port Merrion,
and of course Barmouth and Shell Island.
It would be good to hear what your local area is like and where to visit.

Shropshire is England's best kept secret.
The birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, there are several excellent museums around the Telford area. www.ironbridge.org.uk

We have Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty with amazing walks and scenery https://www.shropshirehillsaonb.co.uk

We have beautiful towns including Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Ludlow and Church Stretton.

...but don't tell everyone ;)

is it still under water?

Staffordshire Moorlands going over to the peak district. Mow Cop, little moreton hall, ( possibly the first prefabs made in England. built offsite at Congleton then assembled. later the Moreton family decided they wanted a walking gallery so they stuck it on top causing the distortion seen today. Leek, then over the top to Bakewell.

The Cotswolds, lots of beautiful villages (not all of them are touristy), great for walking and there is also The Thames for a bit of a dip

Cirencester is a fantastic town, Broadway walking up to the tower and the view across the counties is fabulous, meander along The Thames for a walk or even take a swan or a pink flamingo out on the river.

When the Americans/Canadians invented the term staycation it meant staying at home and taking day trips from there, to save on accommodation and travel expenses. The average US citizen has no passport and assumes to take their vacation without going abroad so they don’t need a new word for taking holidays in their homeland. I take most of my holidays in the UK and do not consider them to be staycations because I do not stay put. When I was young most Brits who took a holiday went somewhere in the UK with just a few taking a foreign holiday and we didn’t need a misunderstood term to describe it.
Sorry grumble over.
Edit
p.s.I know I am a grumpy old git.

From CalMac website:

What is a hopscotch ticket?

If you are planning on visiting more than one destination during your trip, then a hopscotch ticket will give you convenience and flexibility to add more than one route to your ticket. These tickets are offered for convenience only and do not offer any discount on the single journey ticket price.

Tickets are valid for 31 days from the date of your first journey and can be used in either direction on your chosen route. On certain routes we recommend a booking is made in advance of travel.

So I don't think 5 weeks would be a good plan!

Last year we spent a 1 week on Mull sailing from Oban, then had 4 weeks on the Outer Hebrides with Hopscotch 8 ticket. It was the best trip we have ever done.
We had planned a 6 week trip to Portugal in May this year, but are likely to return to Outer Hebrides later in year because of the coronovirus.

I'm going to be heading to snowdonia around end of April. Are there many good flt spots around there or budget campsites you could recommend? I live in Brighton and it's a fun city surrounded by nice countryside but wouldn't really recommend it for a motorhome holiday.

I agree with all of the locations above absolutely.... Cornwall at the moment is horrendous, wet windy and just down right dreadful I wouldn’t come here..... and besides you might actually come across Me and that wouldn’t be a nice experience for you...

much nicer up north of Plymouth...?
