Static shocks! (1 Viewer)

Another daft question!

Today i got on the roof and gave it its first clean. When I gave it a coat of wax, I could hear the crackling of static when applying the wax. Touch anything metal and 'CRACK.........' , OUCH! It got to a point I had to stop, (got too scared).

Thought about wearing an Earth strap but that was going too far. Roof can remain dirty!

Any tips to avoid the shocks?
