- enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
We are on our way home from the Vendee and are trying to take our time and visit or pass through a few places en route that have Aires, that we wouldnt normally stop at. Tonights stopover is at St Germain en Cogles, Brittany. Its not far from Fougeres, where we have stayed before and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Aire at St Germain en Cogles couldnt be any different than Fougeres.
The Aire is adjacent to a lovely manicured set of pathways leading through wooded glades and 'water gardens' (Jardin de l'eau) formed by the stream passing through, and into the village itself, all we can hear is birdsong and an occasional car passing - though the Aire is just off the main road into the village. Internet signal is very good though the adjacent trees have made getting a satellite signal a lot harder, though to be honest i havent tried moving the van as we are more than happy where it is.
If youre looking for a nice place to relax for the evening before pushing on and heading further into France, then i would suggest you include this amongst your potential stops. There doesn't appear to be any services, ie water, wc emptying - which is perhaps why there are aren't any other motorhomes here on a mild friday evening. There are houses around 400m away, so youre not completely isolated, though if you close your eyes, you think you are!

Update, just walked into the village through a different track, came across an exercise area (all french villages seem to have them), a children's play area adjacent to some chickens, pigs and goats, I assume so the children can feed them. I also found a very clean public toilet, right opposite the Town Hall! The village looks to be very well kept with some stunning old houses that have been updated sympathetically.
The village seems to be part of a walking route around the area
All in all, what a great little place for a stop over!!
