Just read the manual, only had it four years, it says if not used for six weeks damage can occur. But doesn't say what, just to call Mercedes. Does anyone know what damage? Our local dealer hasn't anyone available to answer.

We have had Sprinters for years, both panel vans and both our MH's have been Sprinters. Not had any issues despite being stood. Our MH stands for weeks at a time and recently stood from September until March when we drove it to Spain with no issues (apart from the fact that when we got there we had to turn round and come back as they locked down!) although it does have a solar panel to keep it topped up. I can only assume it is referring to the battery going flat if stood.

My car which is also a Mercedes keeps sending me emails saying it needs to be started and taken for a run for 30 mins but as we are in lockdown and i arent doing non essential journeys at the moment we have just put a battery charger on it every so often to keep it topped up. It seems happy with that.

Went to start my work van up yesterday 69plate 5k miles, and a message came up saying 'vehicle in energy saving mode' Maybe the battery was starting to get a bit low ?? so took it out for a spin.
My car (bmw) had the message 'key-fob battery low). the fob is re-charged by the car when it is running,
Maybe this is the case with a sprinter - guessing !
OR maybe Merc think you'll forget how to drive & crash into something

It’s feeling lonely.... it will self destruct if not given some love...?
