It's MOT time tomorrow and I'm a little concerned that a previous advisory may come up to bite me on the bum! It's slight play in the steering rack. I have a definite knock when turning the wheel and can feel movement in the rack through the tie rod, one side slightly more than the other. So it's probably the bushes worn.

Just wondered, should it need replacing if anyone has changed one and is it DIY..able?

Cheers Dave

You probably don't need to replace the rack itself but the track rods can be bought separately, not a difficult job to change them.

They were picked up as an advisory, once again, so will replace at my leisure over the next 12 months as replacement of the track rod ends looks a pretty straightforward job.
